Florida Department of Revenue Responds

Today I received a telephone call in response to my letters.

Mr. Tony Thompson in Tallahassee describes himself as the legislative liasion for the Department of Revenue.

He discusses with me the points that I made in my letter:
the lack of knowledge of the front-line workers at the child support office and on the toll free line. He says that the Department is continually working to improve training for the staff.

He explains the odd amounts of support I have received (two checks of $220 each) as being a percentage amount intercepted from unemployment compensation.

Direct question: "Do I have an open case?" He responds yes, I have an open case.

I remind him that I have provided the local office of child support with documentation of the property he owns in this county and in other counties in Florida. He assures me that the Department will agressively pursue this options in order to enforce the support order.

*note: it's important to remember that I have been told I have an open case--stay tuned for what happens next!
